These pieces push the style details to new heights. Skirts are fuller, pants are wider, sleeves are exaggerated. Proportions are amped up to create the very best kind of drama. The collection captured so beautifully in the incredible photo shoot in the faded beauty of the Esplanade Hotel, St Kilda starring and styled by Lynda Gardener herself.
New pieces are absolute show stoppers. The demure throwback style of The Harlow Top with its sheer and subtle white stripe and oversized bow, gathered sleeves serve up a deeply romantic look. Perfectly matched with wide legged elegance of the Easton Pant in Driftwood which create that perfect leading lady silhouette
The Babette Shirt and Leilani Skirt make their debut in the most delicious Rust linen, gorgeous as separates and matched together to create a dramatic dress look. The Leilani skirt grazing the ankles, designed with additional panels at the side for additional swish. The Babette Shirt is all about the details. From the exaggerated long sleeve with three button enclosure, the feminine gathering at the shoulders to soften the look and a hem cut to be tucked or tied.
Pieces that were instant design classics from the first collaboration return in style. The popular Prudence Dress, and Gwendolyn skirt have been re-cut and reissued now in luxurious Antique Black linen.
The Louella has transformed from top into a fabulous dress in Antique Black. This is a dress for all-day glamour - quintessential Lynda Gardener. A maxi dress in every way with dramatic gathering in the sleeves and a neckline that can be worn coquettishly off one shoulder.
Liberty fabrics are the perfect partner for such romantic styles. The high drama of the Marguerite skirt returns in generous swathes of Liberty Thorpe, a truly luxurious crisp cotton, fully lined for the perfect drape. The Beatrice Top returns and is ever-so sweet in Liberty Bijou.
The Henriette Jacket finishes the collection with its lovely detailing and utilitarian work coat feel. The deep corduroy and creamy colourway provide the luxury, the oversized collar and exaggerated sleeves with box pleats add the design flair, the deep patch pockets and self covered buttons the final polish.
The collection is perfect for those moments where you want to be the main character, the head- turner, the entrance maker, the muse. Living a larger life both in your imagination and your wardrobe. Stepping into a world where you are the mystery and the glamour is all yours.
A theme has emerged in this collaboration, rather effortlessly. Liberty & linen skirt + blouse combinations, that when worn together read as statement dresses. Cleverly though, these garments are strong separates which will mix and match amongst themselves and with the wearers own wardrobe.
In harmony with Lynda’s glamorous vintage aesthetic, inspiration always comes from a bygone era. This time the Edwardian period was a reference.
The collection has been produced in Melbourne using beautiful quality linen & cotton sourced from around the world. Lynda worked hand in hand with label owner Nic MacIsaac & the design team at EVASSUNDAY on all aspects of the range from fabric selection & garment design right down to swing tags, labels and of course creative direction of the shoot.
Canberra based photographer Lean Timms captured the range in a Melbourne warehouse conversion. Serendipitously, this thoughtfully renovated space was LG’s very own home some 30+ years ago. It seems Lynda’s love of fashion & interiors have come full circle, harmoniously landing together in the same place.
